Post-Conference Tours - Tour II

July 26-27, 2018, North-West: Roundtrip from and to Bonn

 

Duration: 1.5 days


Leaving Bonn by bus approx. 1 h after end of conference on Thursday (July 26) in direction north to Xanten (Colonia Ulpia Traiana) to walk on the traces of the romans with "Roman history comes to life" at the Archaeological Park (http://www.apx.lvr.de/en/lvr_archaeologischer_park/archaeologischer_park.html). After a guided tour through the park a dinner according to the recipes of the roman cook "Apicius" will be served.

After the dinner transfer by bus to "Wunderland" Kalkar (https://www.wunderlandkalkar.eu/en/hotel/our-hotels) for the stay overnight incl. breakfast next morning.

On Friday morning we drive to the research and education centre of the agricultural chamber of North Rhine-Westphalia "Haus Riswick" (http://www.riswick.de/). A two hours guided tour will present the research facilities for conventional and biological dairy farming (feeding trials, ensiling trials, digestibility test, greenhouse gases estimation, trials with forage plants).

After the visit of the research centre transfer by bus to CLAAS harvesting machinery factory in Harsewinkel (http://www.claas.de/unternehmen/claas-de/standorte/harsewinkel). Before the guided tour through the production facilities for self-propelled foragers, combine harvesters, the "Xerion" tractors and the CLAAS museum a lunch will be provided.

Departure back to Bonn (arrival approx. 07:00 PM).


Note: If you don’t depart from Bonn immediately after arriving from the tour on Friday evening, you have to book an additional stay from Friday to Saturday in your hotel in Bonn.


Price for this tour: € 60.00

The prices for the conference tours include all transfers, accommodation and most meals.
