Giorgio Borreani is Associate Professor in Agronomy and Crop Science at the Dept. of Agricultural, Forest and Food Sciences of the University of Turin (Italy). He is involved in silage research since 1993 with particular emphasis on silage quality and evaluation of new machineries and technological innovations in silage making to understand the management factors that influence the preservation of a crop by ensiling. He is author or co-author of 292 publications, 62 on international ISI journals. He has several contacts with European and Italian Universities and Research Centres involved in research and PhD student exchanges and actively collaborate since 1994 on projects supported by various private companies operating in the field of ensiling to improve and solve technical problems of forage conservation in Dairy farms.
